The Unseen Weapon That You Carry

You have a weapon that's more powerful than the atomic bomb.

“Words are potent weapons for all causes, good or bad.” —Manly P. Hall

The weapon we have been given in this world is not one lifted by our hands. It is one raised by our words.

God’s Word is a weapon heard long before it is ever seen. It is an ancient, heavenly language that He has entrusted to us, His children. Therefore, we have the power to draw forth our spiritual sword by the words we choose to speak. And though these words may be invisible, if they are misused, they can prove deadly.

We have the power to speak words that can open or close hearts. God has given us His language, and we don’t have to learn heaven’s grammar or punctuation to use it. He has framed the words in strength and carefully structured every part together so that it is woven with power and promise.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

Notice how this passage doesn’t say some Scriptures accomplish these things, but that all of them do. If we pick and choose what we speak forth and live out, we will be ill-equipped and unprepared for what awaits us in the future.

God wants to display His power in and through you. His words are flawless and vibrant. We lift swords when we lift His Word:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21).

Because God has given us the gift of this language, these living words should be used honorably. God framed the world we see by words we cannot see. But when we act like our Father and echo His words, the sword finds its substance.

Are you ready to lift your sword? Then it’s time to begin speaking out what your Father has already declared. What should you start saying? What should you cease to declare? Immerse yourself in God’s Word and allow it to shape what you speak.

I encourage you to begin in a position of prayer:

Father, thank You for Your perfect and powerful Word. Thank You for giving me the ability to use it with authority by the power of Your Spirit inside me. Help me to speak words of life and promise. I want to honor the weapon You have entrusted to me. Teach me to use it well, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
