Biblical Secrets to Unwavering Peace and a Steadfast Mind

Peace of mind and peace of heart are some of the most priceless and sought-after commodities in our world today. We have sadly realized that peace between nations is not going to happen this side of eternity, and therefore, we ache for an inner peace that will serve as the compass of our souls.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isa. 26:3).

This familiar verse offers definitive instructions on how a man or a woman is able to live in a place of peace even when their life resembles a war zone. Your circumstances and events may have created a vicious crossfire and yet, this verse instructs, that even in that volatile moment, you are able to maintain an inner and an extraordinary peace.

This verse firmly asserts that we can experience peace even when dealing with a situational storm of epic proportions.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

This is a promise from the heart of God aimed at the confusion of your circumstances! The Lord is the only one with the power to make and to keep this promise. The government can give you no such guarantee, and your spouse does not have this same power. Your parents, as loving and kind as they may be, cannot offer this unconditional peace, and certainly neither can the media.

Only God can promise the perfect peace for which your soul aches. God keeps every promise that He makes; all of His promises are good for all of eternity. God doesn’t take one day off, nor does He taunt you with His promises. Whatever God says endures forever, and whatever God promises endures forever.

God deeply desires for you, as His beloved child, to live in an extremely safe place; the safe place that He has for you is in the middle of His promises. Don’t allow worry or anxiety to call you away from His promises. Determine today that you will never again leave His promises and that you will never again buy real estate in the neighborhood of worry, care or concern.

You have a choice in every situation in life: You can either trust His promises or you can accept the lies of the enemy. I have often wondered why it is so easy for Christians to believe a lie of the enemy and why it is so difficult for Christians to stand on the promises of God. Why, indeed!

I, as a believer in Jesus Christ, am going to stand on the promise that He has peace for me when I choose to trust in Him. When I am in a thunderous storm, I will hunker down in the Word of God, and I will find a promise to be my shelter of protection. The winds will never touch me in that safe place that has been built by the promises of God.

I must change my mindset from worry to trust; I must change my reference point from doubt to trust. I must set my mind on heavenly things and remind myself of the promise on which I stand.

I will trust in the Lord and not in the whims of the culture, the prognosis of the doctor or the instability of the economy. I will trust in the Lord and in His Word, and I will be the beneficiary of a life-changing and storm-chasing peace. {eoa}
