What would you do if someone carried off your kid, your household and all your goods? Would you sit back and relax – or go on the attack?
Abraham faced this situation when his nephew Lot and his household were taken. He immediately responded to the urgency of the moment and went after the perpetrators, recovering everything that had been taken.
A lot of the problems we’re seeing in our homes and our nation could be solved if the people of God would get an urgency in their souls. The issue with our generation is we always give ourselves more time.
We’re looking for loopholes, while Abraham, the father of our faith, kicks into rescue mode the second he hears of a tragedy. We’re saying “four more months” when Jesus is saying the time is now.
We’ve got to turn this around. You have to be urgent about this hour that is upon us.
Go get your kids. Recover your goods. You don’t have to ask permission to rescue somebody. Go on the attack and get them back!
Believe the good news that the Kingdom of God is on the increase – and that you are a part of it. If you don’t believe God’s Kingdom is advancing, you’ll get passive and let the enemy walk away with your stuff.
Every generation gets a little more entangled in the world when we stop believing in the advancing Kingdom. The increase of addictions and dysfunctional families and an overall dysfunctional society reveals the passivity of a church that won’t go on the attack.
Shake off your passivity – and arise to rescue.
