Hicks mentions the fact that many people doubt their dreams because they don’t trust that what they are seeing and dreaming comes from the Lord. But she says, “Remember, God speaks in many different ways, as revealed throughout the record of Scripture.” Through these revelations, and your study of them, you can deepen your relationship with God.
Not only are dreams important for edifying your relationship with the Lord, but they are also used to encourage others.
Hicks shares a story about her daughter’s soccer team and how, while driving her daughter to practice, Hicks shared her dream with her daughter. Later, Hicks arrived at her daughter’s game, and the entirety of the dream played out before her. Now what was the purpose of that? Hicks says she wondered.
She says, “Well, I really believe that the Lord wanted to infuse my daughter with courage for this new position that she was stepping into. He wanted to show her what His plan was, and the fact that I had had a dream of her defending the goal, defending her team, to that level, I believe really gave her a courage that she might not have had if she hadn’t heard the dream.”
