The work of the cross to redeem us from the curse of sickness is available to every person who accepts Christ as Savior. Whether your physical malady is a result of lifestyle choices, accidents, or genetic diseases, God’s desire is that every person receive their healing. He loves all His children and offers His miracles of healing and health to them, no matter how they got sick.
I don’t mean for this message on positioning yourself for living in health to be intimidating to someone who is sick. I want to help you realize God’s will for His children is health. He loves you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to redeem you from the curse of sickness.
He provided your healing supernaturally, through His death and resurrection, so that you can experience the blessing of health.
The prophet Isaiah declared this truth, though the translators for the King James Version did not properly connect physical healing with Christ’s bearing our griefs and sorrows. The original Hebrew word for griefs means “sickness” and the word for sorrows means “pain, physical or mental.”
Isaiah’s prophetic declaration is more accurately translated as follows: Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains. . . . He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. —Isaiah 53:4–5, AMP, emphasis added.
