The author of a new book about the book of Revelation and biblical prophecy reveals that there are three wraths in the book of Revelation that are key to understanding the order of last day events.
In his new book, Revelation and the Age of Antichrist, author Steve Magill reveals that the first of these wraths is the wrath of Antichrist. He appears on the scene in Revelation 6 greatly angered at God’s people. He unleashes what is known as the great tribulation, killing one fourth of the world’s population. The present war against Christians and Jews is preparing the way for the Antichrist.
The next wrath revealed is the wrath of Christ and the six trumpets. Revelation 6:16 reveals the people of the earth crying out to be hidden from the “wrath of Christ.” Christ’s wrath is unleashed to bring an end to the Antichrist’s kingdom. The wrath of Christ destroys much of our trees, grass, salt and fresh waters, and light of the sun and moon. Also, demonic locust-like creatures will appear to torture all who are not God’s people, and soldiers from throughout the earth will gather to prepare to fight at the battle of Armageddon.
The third wrath is the wrath of God, revealed with the pouring out of the seven vials. As astounding as this may sound, Scripture reveals this wrath will last for only one sixty-minute hour. Its purpose is to bring an end to all that we know as life. At this time all salt and fresh water will become undrinkable. The sun will become so hot that the people who are left will be scorched as if in an oven. The armies gathered during the wrath of Christ will now go to battle at Armageddon against Christ, now sitting upon the throne of God. The good news is that God defeats His enemies and all sin will be removed.
Revelation and the Age of Antichrist reveals that the seven seals are first released when Christ removes the seals from the book given to him by God. It is then, without question, that out of the seventh seal, the seven trumpets of Christ’s wrath are released. Next, when the seventh trumpet is blown the seven vials of God’s wrath are poured out upon the earth.
Magill writes that the events of the seven trumpets cannot come before the events of the seven seals or after the events of the seven vials. Neither can the events of the seven vials take place before or after the events of the seven trumpets or seven seals.
When the natural ordering of the book of Revelation is followed, the ordering of last day events is also known: apostasy, Antichrist, great tribulation, two witnesses, battle of Armageddon, rapture, millennium, great white throne judgment, new heaven and new earth.
