Why Your Destiny—Not Your History—Defines You

Have you ever run from your destiny or the Lord’s calling upon your life? Did you try to hide and cover your sin by being bound in pride or by not acknowledging it? Did you believe you weren’t even sinning?

We cannot hide from God. Whatever is in darkness, He will expose and bring into the light. “He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will reveal the purposes of the hearts” (1 Cor. 4:5).

Often, we don’t want to ask for help, acknowledge or expose our sin in fear of rejection, criticism and judgment. We don’t often realize that there are genuine people in the world who will love us unconditionally and desire to help us root out those things that hold us in bondage. One of the detriments of not receiving the healing of our past is that we won’t trust people in the future to assist us in freedom.

You are defined by your destiny, not your history. When the thoughts cycle over through the minds of our past, we don’t move up and forward toward freedom. God has set people in place to assist you. He has anointed and appointed someone to heal you and bring out your full potential. But often because of our history, we don’t give these people a chance and we sabotage the relationship before they help us reach our destiny.

When we haven’t been valued by people, loved unconditionally or accepted by society, it is difficult to change those fleshly emotions to receive what God wants to give us. The challenge is God uses people to give to us, and if we can’t trust the people in our history, often we don’t trust the people in our present that will lead us to our destiny.

The root of these issues goes deep into inner healing and casting out the correlating spirit. In my new Charisma Ecourses, I have an online program leading people through the inner healing and deliverance process. I encourage you to visit the free preview lessons at charismacourses.com.

When dealing with our history, what we have to remember is that it does affect people in our present. When we don’t seek our inner healing, it will have repercussions on our present and our destiny.

Rejection is deeply rooted, and it often is the reason we can’t deal with our history. You don’t have to deal with specific circumstances and relationships to receive healing. You need to discover the root of rejection, receive healing, renew your mind and then move forward. It is changing your expectations and thought patterns that you won’t be rejected in your destiny and that your rejection is history.

Jesus came to purchase our healing, not only from physical ailments but emotional strongholds. Receive the depth of His love through the people He puts in your past. If you have a difficult time trusting people, then try trusting the God in them and operating through them, because the Spirit of the Lord within them desires to lead you to and through healing.
