And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit-.-.-.-And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. —Mark 9:17, 22
You may be facing failure, or perhaps you just received a bad report from the doctor. You may desperately need Jesus, but a faithless disciple may have destroyed your faith. One of the greatest obstacles to seeing lost souls won to the kingdom is the failure in the lives of professing Christians to live for Christ. They say one thing on Sunday—but on Monday, it’s business as usual.
Jesus responded by telling the one who came to him the problem was not with what He could do, but in what the man could believe. Jesus said, “Don’t let the failures of my disciples destroy your faith in me. Look beyond their failures, Satan’s antics and your own disappointment.”
With God-.-.-.-all things are possible. God is greater than demons, death, and disappointments. God can do anything!
Jesus, I will stop trusting in my own strength
and I will trust in Yours. I confess that You
are greater than any obstacle
I face. Amen.
