But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. —John 15:26
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus does not change. He was not a different Jesus for John than He is for you today. When you see Him with the eyes enlightened by the Holy Spirit, you will see the same Jesus whom John knew.
The Holy Spirit makes this possible, for He was sent to show us Jesus. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth-.-.-.-He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you” (John 16:13,15).
The Holy Spirit was called alongside us to help. The Spirit is the Paraclete—the One who stands beside us. He is our Comforter, Helper, and Teacher, given to us to carry out God’s part of the covenant! Welcome the Holy Spirit into your life and allow Him to lead you into all truth and wisdom (1 Corinthians 2:7).
Holy Spirit, lead, guide, and direct my life. Show me
Jesus continually. Teach me His truth. Comfort me
in every sorrow and pain. Dwell in my life which is
consecrated to be Your tabernacle. Amen.
