In the wake of Franklin Graham’s bold stance against Duke organizing a Muslim call to prayer from its chapel bell tower every Friday, the International House of Prayer in Kanas City (IHOPKC) is calling for intercession over the evangelist.
“We are calling believers to support and pray for Franklin Graham,” says Mike Bickle, director of IHOPKC. “He has boldly yet tenderly taken a biblical stance in warning America in relation to Islam, gay marriage and several other important subjects.”
Bickle pointed to Graham’s statements on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15.
“As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism. I call on the donors and alumni to withhold their support from Duke until this policy is reversed,” Graham wrote on Facebook.
“Will evangelical Christians be allowed the same three minutes weekly to broadcast the message across campus that God Almighty of the Bible sent His Son Jesus Christ to offer forgiveness of sins and salvation to all who will repent, believe and call on His Name? Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ (John 14:6).”
Graham has continued to take bold stands against sin and for the salvation of America, following in the footsteps of his father, Billy Graham.
“He must be supported by much prayer at this time as he courageously speaks the truth in love,” Bickle says. “May the Lord raise up many faithful witnesses to the truth about Jesus and His glorious love and salvation.”
