Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. —Psalm 25:4-5
People often ask me after I teach on David’s life, “How do I get a heart like David’s, consumed with love for God?” I tell them that if they behold and study God’s fiery love for them, their hearts will become fiery with love for God. As we behold the inner life of the Godhead, we receive divine information about what God feels about human beings, about you and me individually, about our destinies, our personalities, our likes and dislikes, our places in history. We connect with and behold the emotions of God. But more than that, we begin to change.
{ PRAYER STARTER }
Teach me Your ways; show me Your personality; let me feel Your emotions, Father. Knowing You in this way will change me from corruptible to incorruptible, from hopelessness to destiny.
What does it mean to be a student of
God’s emotions?
