Have you ever wanted to start a business or increase the profits of your current business? The Word of God has hundreds of examples on how to be successful in life.
There are numerous Scriptures relating to success in business. As a Christian businessman for 20 years. I discovered that God does not put limits on our success. When we are operating in His will, He will bless us and our businesses beyond what we can imagine or even think.
Here are seven steps to prosperity in our business. 1. Pray daily and remember that God is our source for prosperity; 2. Never take truth out of our business transactions. 3. Profits must have a purpose, or you may not even want them; 4. Prosperity requires a life focused on eternal things, not just temporal things; 5. Prosperity must focus on spiritual prosperity, not just financial prosperity; 6. Prosperity in business requires great service to our customers and our God; and 7. Prosperity in business requires us to build a team based upon God’s Word.
Why do you want to succeed in business? As soon as possible take time to write down the reasons that you even desire to have a business. Now keep it someplace where you can look at these reasons often.
By doing that you will stay focused on your purpose in being in business. I believe the Lord has a list of reasons why we should be successful in business. He wants to bless us in anything good we do. In addition, He wants our business to be a blessing to His people.
Why do you want success in business? Most people say they want to make a lot of money. That is a good reason.
However, it must never be the primary reason. Let me explain to you why I feel that way. If more money is always number one, then how will we handle it if we do not make a lot of money? Will we blame God?
The reason I believe Christians should have a business is to support their needs and to have an abundance to be able to support the needs of others.
Since we are concerned about the word ‘success,’ maybe we ought to define it. One definition is simply to win at something. But success is not just winning. It’s how and why we win. If our desire is only to have success in business without having a clearly defined purpose, then we are on the wrong track.
I believe that God wants to bless our lives in anything we do when we understand our purpose. A business without a defined purpose for success is like a train on a track that is ready to go over a cliff.
When a Christian’s business is successful, it is a blessing to the kingdom of God.
To have a successful business, there’s one major premise we must never forget, and it’s found in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” {eoa}
