Is God Raising You Up to be a King Solomon?

Charisma News archives

We are in a worldwide financial wilderness. It is going to get more bleak before it gets better for many countries, banks, industries and communities.

In David’s day, countries were at war in every neighboring part of Israel, but in Solomon’s day, a time of peace and prosperity came to Israel that affected nations. David had the ark of the covenant and the tent of meeting, but Solomon was anointed to use these to build the kingdom of God on the Earth in a way that no one else had ever done. It was also a messianic prototype and many Jewish people still believe their Messiah is going to come like Solomon and transform the cultures of the world as a king.

There is an anointing in the same way God worked through Solomon that is available through our Christian faith today.

We are in a financial crisis and war-like activities are happening across the Earth. This is both because of terrible management/decisions by our leaders, banking institutions, politicians and individuals, but it is also because God is allowing a global restructure for the sake of His harvest.

Currencies are going to change, new evaluations are going to happen, a migration of focus in certain markets that could have never been foreseen is underway, there is a whole new financial system and network that is being set up. Some are misunderstanding and think the enemy and human government (one world government) owns this whole process, but God is always doing more than the enemy. He has people that are being set up like a Solomon in different industries, nations and communities to bring a wisdom and governance to what He is doing on the Earth. This is much harder to see because it takes the eyes of discernment, the eyes of God to know that there is a divine set up happening, that has never been seen before.

The financial famine that is happening in the midst of this power struggle and God’s plan is very hard for so many, however God wants to root you in provision. Some of the very first words out of Jesus’ ministry were about resources and provision for you and I so that we wouldn’t be disheartened.

Jesus shared about who God is: A heavenly Father who is always with us, guiding us through the Holy Spirit, in the midst of these trials. However, it is hard when you are facing real challenges, and financial issues to look at these biblical stories and messages to be applicable now. That is why you need to read these passages and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Father’s plan over your finances, and you will see some things that you have never really personally connected to in this time of challenge. He is opening eyes to resources and understanding.

For you personally, one way to trust the Holy Spirit during financial hardship is by resisting the urge to spend on excess. Think of the words in Hebrews 13:5, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’“ By focusing on what we do have and the blessings in our lives and not our lack, we can find joy in the simplest of things. God wants to take the pain of financial anxiety off of you right now but you have to renew your mind, you have to change your focus, you have to look up.

In times of financial struggle, use your faith to envision a brighter future. Recall the stories of what God has done for you or for others. Read through the stories in the Bible like Joseph in Genesis 41, who trusted God’s plan and was able to save Egypt from famine through wise financial management. Joseph’s story teaches us that when we trust in God and follow His guidance, we can overcome even the most challenging situations.

God wants to use you to build his kingdom and make you a financier and be resourceful like Solomon. It is not about wealth but about the ability to use the kingdom resources, talents, skills, wisdom to build with God on the earth. So many of us want to be rescued by someone like a rich Solomon or by a government that will restore our opportunities or value, which puts us in the wrong mode of looking for someone to meet our needs.

This can create a victimization over our season that is not real but puts us in the wrong position. Instead, it’s time to see ourselves (even in times of financial lack) as a benefactor to the world around us because of our relationship with Jesus and the resources that this creates for the world through us. We have resources of time, compassion, talents, relationships that it’s time to give out of the bank of those areas of riches and help to make things happen in the world around us that finances can’t solve or bring.

Sometimes God even allows the poverty of finances so that we won’t solve problems the world’s way, but that we begin to move in greater resources of relationship and spiritual destiny that is higher than any currency which provides eternal wealth. Are you waiting for the finances to solve your problems or are you leaning into what God has already given you like the parable of the talents when the one who was given many invested all he had, but the one who was given only one buried it waiting for miraculous wealth to come without any energy expended?

During these times, the enemy is trying to twist our thoughts and weigh like a dumbbell on your imagination. It is crucial to guard your spiritual and mental health. Meditate on Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

When you apply this to your bank account, your investments, the resources you need even in the midst of what you don’t have or what you have lost, this is where the rubber meets the road. Do you believe God really is who He says He is over your financial and resource journey? If you can anchor yourself here, you will learn to experience the joy and peace that passes understanding.

One of the keys to really renewing your mind and staying out of spiritual oppression is to celebrate the success of others that are going after the same things you are but are experiencing the success that you are not yet, even if you are experiencing financial difficulties. It’s essential to recognize that financial hardship can cause a self-centered focus. However, God calls us to be generous, even when we face scarcity. Just as the widow in 1 Kings 17:8-16 gave her last bit of food to the prophet Elijah and was blessed with an abundance of provision, we too can experience God’s blessings when we give sacrificially.

The Macedonians believed in Paul’s mission so much that when they were in their hardest financial times they were giving beyond what was reasonable to fund Paul’s mission and he talked about the joy they had. There is a secret in not allowing yourself to be overly self focused but to give even if it’s in volunteering, talents, skills, relationships and not money.

Trust the Holy Spirit in times of a financial desert, stand in faith, suppress the desire for excess, find joy in simplicity, use faith to envision a brighter future, guard your spiritual and mental health, celebrate others and embrace the call to extravagant giving. Remember the biblical examples of God’s miraculous provision, and rest assured that He will provide for you and enable you to be a blessing to others.

He is raising up some who have a calling like I mentioned before, to be Solomon’s in their time and this is a specific anointing to build in a way that others are not able to or can’t see because it is within the context of knowing God and having His perceptions over how to build.

If you feel like you are being invited into this or have felt like you identify with Solomon and how he built, like he was a prototype for you, pray for God’s presence and anointing to be on you in the same way for such a time as this!
