Tammie Southerland prays that the burning, shining lambs, the John the Baptist types, the Samuel types, would begin to come back on the scene, but this time with great maturity and joy. Recently in her quiet time with the Lord, Southerland felt very strongly that the “Lord began to say this to me so loudly in my spirit, in my heart, ‘Where have the Nazirites gone?'”
She says through this, she realizes, “It’s time for a generation to come into maturity.”
For our generation to come into maturity, Southerland says we must humbly and truly ask, “How abandoned will you be? How far will you go? What will you allow the Lord to strip away from your life in order to receive the reward of His face?”
Southerland says she believes “the Lord is calling you forth out of the ways of the world and into a deeper, lovesick relationship with Him.”
These are the true markers of a Nazirite generation. They will be known by the deeply personal relationship they have with the Lord. Southerland says God revealed this to her in a separate time of prayer. “I recently had an encounter in prayer with the Lord where I was wrestling in prayer over what I felt like were my setbacks and my failures … where I could not see those seasons as fruitful in my life,” she says. “And in His love, He began to show me those who were impacted by my life in those seasons. And all of a sudden, … I was not aware of all of those things, as He eclipsed me, covered me in His glory.”
