Read Time: 2 Minutes 25 Seconds
If you search the phrase, “where does life come from?” the first explanation reads: “The origin of life is a result of a supernatural event—and readily arises from nonliving matter in short periods of time, today as in the past.”
The question is then, “How exactly does life come from something nonliving or even nonexistent?
English theologian William Paley writes, in regard to the common wristwatch, “Common sense dictates that the complexity, the materials and the obvious and purposeful and intricate design of the watch capable of measuring the precise passage of time led to the logical conclusion that there must be an intelligent, purposeful watchmaker.”
In other words, through the passage of time, as the winds blew and the sands swept across the ground, one day a beautiful watch began taking shape. After millions of years, it became a polished, functioning tool capable of keeping perfect time.
Who would ever think such a foolish thought? The wrist of the one who wears the watch is far more complex than the watch!
The world will tell you that you came from some unexplained explosion or from an animal, but the truth is that you came from God. If man came from the animal kingdom, then where did man get a conscience? Why do most people worship a god even if their god differs from the living God of the Bible?
They do so because they have an awareness of a supreme being. Animals do not. Why? Because man is made in God’s image and animals are not.
The separation from animals to humans is distinct and obvious—seen in man’s ability to love, his compassion, his reason and his dominance on the planet. God gave man dominion on the earth, and He placed within the animal kingdom an innate need to fear man (Gen. 1:26–28; 9:2). Why would they fear us if we came from their species?
It is only because God said it would be so. There is such a vast difference between an ape and a man. People choose to deny the obvious.
Either you believe in God, or you believe that life and the planet and everything in and from it happened by accident. If the latter is your position, then you will be a person with no hope in the world.
You’ll live with a void in your soul that cannot be filled with mere experiences or things. You’ll be left unsatisfied knowing deep down that there is more to life than the material world.
The truth is that you are special and unique and created in God’s image with a destiny and a purpose for being here on earth. You are here by design, and not by accident.
