At the beginning of 2023, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn gave a message that recapped the previous year and brought hope for the year to come. Now as we look back a year later, we can see that what he had to say was more than just mere words on paper—they were biblical prophecies come to life.
“In 2022 just recently, Benjamin Netanyahu came back into office as the nation’s prime minister,” Cahn said. “Now prophetically that could mean that Israel will take more steps with regard to the Jewish people being able to pray on the Temple Mount and steps in the direction that will ultimately lead to the building of the second temple as the Bible says,” Cahn said.
Part of Netanyahu’s importance in this sequence of events is that he had been prophesied over about the importance of the position God had placed him in.
“I spoke to a brother in the Lord who gave a prophecy to Netanyahu during his first term as prime minster,” Cahn said. “Netanyahu didn’t know what to make of it but he said ‘I have put you in the position you’re in. Do not give up my land or I will remove you from power.”
Netanyahu found himself giving up land and later removed from that place of position. Years later, the same man prophesied over Netanyahu where he was told that the Lord would give him another chance so long as he would not compromise. What it all is leading up to, at the end of the day, is the rebuilding of the temple.
Outside of the prophetic import of Netanyahu, Cahn predicted events which could lead to an Intifada, and an uprising against Israel. He also made the point that the coming back of the red heifer fulfilled more biblical prophecy.
“The red heifer is a cow that’s needed for a special purification in the temple, but red heifers pretty much don’t exist. But they were found this year Texas. Not one, but several of them. And the rabbis came to Texas to verify that is was a red heifer,” Cahn said.
Not only have we seen the red heifers return, but just as Cahn predicted there has been a greater persecution of believers that has escalated in the last few years, just as Scripture warns that will happen.
“There has been more persecution of believers in modern times, in our day, than in all the rest of the church age,” Cahn said.
And perhaps the most eerie of all things spoken about was the coming of war against Israel. In 2023 we saw countless, innocent lives slaughtered when Hamas attacked the Israeli people.
“The Bible says that in the last days all nations will come against Israel—an attack that will lead to Armageddon,” Cahn said. “This year, just recently, the U.N. General Assembly voted to adopt a resolution to commemorate what is called ‘Nakba Day.’ What is that? ‘Nakba’ is Arabic, it means the catastrophe,” Cahn said.
But not only was ‘catastrophe’ day adopted, but it specifically deals with Israel.
“What was the catastrophe that the U.N. adopted? The birth of Israel,” Cahn said. “The U.N. voted to declare Israel’s birth a catastrophe,” Cahn said.
The declaration against Israel goes even further than simply stating hatred for Israel—a vote took place to demand Israel to give up its nuclear weapons.
“The U.N. has never voted for the most dangerous of nations like China to give up its nuclear weapons or Pakistan which has become a haven for terrorists. Just one nation they want to disarm. You know, the vote was 152 nations against five. When it gets to zero then it’s Armageddon,” Cahn said.
So, are we facing Armageddon? Are we facing the greatest crisis we ever could have seen? When we look at Scripture, it is promised that there will be a great falling away during the last days.
“I don’t know if you noticed it, but 2022 was filled with apostasy and it even accelerated,” Cahn said.
Looking now into the beginning of 2024, we can easily identify that yes, the apostasy is running rampant as we see actual churches abandoning the Word of God for the culture of the world, and the continued indoctrination of children with LGBTQ values. As the apostasy continues, this is the moment to stand strong in the face of darkness. We are living in the moment when good is called evil and evil is called good. However, this is the time to stay rooted in the Word of God, not run away from it.
“There is no darkness that the light of God cannot pierce,” Cahn said. “Let’s increase the light.”
