Jesus instructed us to speak to our mountain, “For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:23).
In this verse, He talks about the power of speaking to our mountains and having belief. He instructs us to “say.” Say means to utter aloud, express in words or give a chance to speak. When we are in prayer, there needs to be times when we are praying aloud to our heavenly Father.
The Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21). We can talk all day long to people, but when it comes to using our authority and speaking aloud to the spiritual atmosphere and our heavenly Father, we don’t embrace that death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Jesus spoke to things! He spoke to a fig tree. “When He saw a fig tree by the road, He went to it but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, ‘Let no fruit ever grow on you again.’ Immediately the fig tree withered away” (Matt. 21:19). The fig tree responded to what He said.
What if some of the things we have been praying for silently, suddenly manifested if we started praying and speaking to them aloud? If we haven’t seen things manifest naturally, is it going to hurt to change the way we pray and try to pray differently?
Call forth means to call into existence and summon into action. Calling forth is what Jesus did to that fig tree. He summoned it into action and told it, “Let no fruit grow on your ever again.” I am sure there are things in your life that could stand to be called forth, such as:
- I call forth a good Christian job to come my way where I will have influence and favor in the marketplace.
- I call forth my loved ones to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- I call forth doors to open on my behalf through which I can share my talents, giftings and love of the Lord.
Command is another powerful word to speak out in our prayer time. Jesus commanded the demons to get out of the man and go into the swine. In Matthew 8:32, Jesus said to them, “‘Go!’ And when they came out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.” He said, “Go.” Go is a command. What do you need to speak into the atmosphere and tell to go in your life? We can take authority over the spiritual realm and tell things to go such as:
- I command sickness and disease in my body to go in Jesus name.
- I command no delays on my God-given assignments.
- I command distractions in my life to go in Jesus name. Everything unproductive and unfruitful go now in the name of Jesus!
What about declaring some good things to come forth and manifest in your life?
Declaring means to manifest, reveal, proclaim and make a declaration. Declaring can be releasing some positive thoughts out of your mouth at the beginning of the day. It can be claiming and taking territory over your day and releasing your expectations of the day such as:
- I declare I am going to be happy, joyful and full of God’s love today to all I encounter.
- I declare my marriage to be restored and I call forth unity, love and restoration.
- I declare my body is going to feel great today and I will be full of strength to accomplish God’s work.
- I declare I am going to have favor in the sight of the Lord and with man today.
Faith comes by hearing and as we speak aloud what we want to see manifest or take authority over, it will increase our faith. Several times a day we are impacted by what people say either positively or negatively. It impacts us and affects our moods. What if we can change our emotions by what we pray aloud? There is power in speaking out! Jesus said, in Luke 10:19, “Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
He gave us authority! When He died and resurrected He transferred His authority to us. Now let’s use that authority and pray aloud. {eoa}
