The Bible tells us that even in His wrath, God remembers mercy. Mercy is not sympathy. Mercy is covenantal love. It’s translated, “mercy”, “loving-kindness”. It’s new every morning. It’s what the blind man shouted, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus replied, “You can have mercy. You can have more than mercy. You can have a miracle, because when My mercy starts to flow, miracles start to flow.” It is the response of the One that keeps covenant and extends mercy to a thousand generations, even when you mess up, even when you sin, even when you rebel. Even when you turn away from Him, as Israel did, the God of mercy will find a way to bring you back. The strategy of the Lord for this season is to go to the throne of Grace, where we obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. We go there and say, “Thank you, Lord, for being merciful and for not giving us what we deserve, but mercy.”
“LORD, I have heard the report of what you did; I am awed, LORD, by what you accomplished. In our time repeat those deeds; in our time reveal them again. But when you cause turmoil, remember to show us mercy!” (Hab. 3:2, NET).
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Thank God for His mercy, loving-kindness, covenant love and miracles. Pray carefully over each one of those words. Let the revelation of each sink in deep. Receive the miracles flowing from His mercy, loving-kindness and covenant love toward you.
- Pray the same for this nation. Say, “In Your wrath, remember mercy!”
- Some have called President Trump “God’s Chaos Candidate.” Pray for the president today.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, thank you for Your mercy (stop and think about that for a minute.) Thank you for Your loving-kindness (stop and think about that). Thank you for Your covenant love toward me (let that sink in.) I receive the miracles You have planned for me that flow out of Your mercy, loving-kindness and covenant love. Do the same for America. We need (mention the miracles you know this nation needs). I pray that You would grant this mercy to President Trump, as well. His very nature stirs things up, but he is honoring You publicly in many ways. Grant him these things, as well, Lord, and work miracles for him, his family and this nation that he loves. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today’s decree:
I decree that God will show our nation mercy in the midst of our current chaotic environment. We will see miracles! {eoa}
