During the late 1940s and early 1950s, well-known Evangelist Ernest Angsley baptized people in Spring Creek, the original settlement of Rosehead, which later became Perry, Florida. Today, angels are encamped there.
Spring Creek is a small tributary of the Fenholloway River in North Florida that begins from a spring with several boils coming up within it. The water is dark and looks like 1,000 other springs in this region but has a far different history than most.
Settlers during the early pioneer days of Florida homesteaded around this spring for a source of water. As the years passed, the spring became the site where churches in the area would baptize new converts. Angsley was one of them.
Often, these meetings would last for weeks on end. During one of these meetings in the late 1940s, an 8-year-old girl was saved and the church would not baptize her because they thought she was too young.
So, Angsley took her down to Spring Creek and baptized her there. These baptisms at this spring created a great heritage of revival and awakening for this community and region along with the many people that prayed and worshipped on the banks of this quiet stream.
An Angelic Atmosphere
As a friend and I were spending some time together, he suggested we go by what is now called Folsom Park, now a park at Spring Creek. As I stepped out of the car, my spirit immediately leaped within me and I could sense in the atmosphere there was something very special about this place. We walked around a few minutes and the Lord instructed me to invite the members of our church, Evangel Christian Fellowship, to a time of worship at the spring.
On April 11, 2015 we gathered on the banks of Spring Creek, at its head, for a time of worship. Marshall Combs, our worship leader, and I opened up this time of worship by the blowing of our shofars. Then Marshall began to play his acoustic guitar and we entered into worship. The people immediately began to lift their hands and voices in worship of our Sweet, Sweet Savior Jesus of Nazareth.
As the people worshipped, suddenly I began to be drawn to the far side of the spring. As I walked around the spring I sensed the presence of an encampment of thousands of angels. I never saw any of them but knew they were present and were simply sitting or standing around.
As I walked through the encampment one spoke to me saying, “We have been waiting for generations. Where have you been?” After returning to the people on the south side of the spring I asked my wife to walk around the spring with me, not telling her what to expect. As we approached the north side, she also sensed the presence of angels.
An Angelic Army for War and Harvest
It is quite interesting that one section of Folsom Park was named for a young lady who was killed in a car wreck. Her name was Angel and the dog park is named “Angel’s Dog Park.”
The next morning during our Sunday Morning worship at church, one of our intercessors who was not at the spring, nor had any idea what had transpired the day before, came to me weeping. She said, “I don’t know what has happened but the angels are warring in the heavenlies with drug addiction, prostitution and idolatry in our city as we worship this morning.”
Definitely, God had confirmed what we had experienced the day before.
A few weeks later my wife, Joan was re-reading a prophetic word Ken Malone, founder of Fore Runner Ministries had given our church on January 30, 2015.
“I will leave a mark of redemption and healing in Perry. I have assembled an angelic army for war and harvest. I will awaken a sleeping giant called the church that shall begin to possess the land and atmosphere of this region. The Big Bend will bend in worship and humility for three days. I say to “Occupy” the territory through worship for three days and I will release My Presence in the land. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare for in these three days you will possess the land.”
The Lord had led us to where He had encamped his angelic army preparing for the church of Perry to possess our city and region. May 6-9 we will gather at Evangel Christian Fellowship to fulfill our assignment. I am sure the angels at Spring Creek will be worshipping with us.
