Everywhere you turn, there seems to be a new YouTube prophet who is giving the latest download of what they believe is a “Thus saith the Lord” moment. While many of these YouTube prophets have accurately given words that have predicted major events happening in our world today or in the lives of individual people, it can’t be expected that all of them have pure intentions.
In a recent message, Perry Stone gave a stark warning about seeking out signs and wonders from places outside of Scripture, including through YouTube. As he puts it, the evidence of what Jesus talked about regarding the end times is present and with us here today.
“We’re being warned. How many more signs do you need?” Stone asks. “How many more do you need to prove that the Messiah is going to return and that the Tribulation and the Antichrist is coming in the future?”
Stone says that what we see happening on a daily basis today is enough to prove that the return of Christ is impending. If there was not another sign, we wouldn’t need it because what we have seen has already made it clear that the end is coming. Yet, there are many people who are still seeking confirmation specifically through YouTube.
“It seems today that everybody that thinks they’ve heard from God is now a YouTube prophet,” Stone says. “Most of your real men and women of God who are truly prophets are praying people in prayer closets that are not on YouTube.”

Stone even alluded that some of the “YouTube prophets” have been given information by the government that was then told to the public as though it came to them by the Word of the Lord. He also rebuked when prophets only ever have words about America.
“If you didn’t know better you would think that all God is concerned about is who the next president’s going to be,” Stone says.
During a time when there are so many voices trying to speak into what is happening in the world and what will come, how do Christians accurately discern what is and is not of God? Stone says the missing key is biblical literacy.
“What you’ve got to do is get in the Bible,” Stone says. “Don’t be looking for a prophecy-a-day, get into the Word of the Lord.”
As more and more voices rise each day, it is biblical discernment that is absolutely vital for determining what is and is not of the Lord.
