Two people die every single second of every single day. How many of those people even believed hell was real? If you don’t believe it exists, how can you escape from it? Think of the people today who are trapped in false religions, convinced that there is no hell. Even people who think of themselves as Christians follow teachings that deny the existence of hell. Where will they all end up?
— 2.2 billion Christians.
— 1.6–1.9 billion Muslims.
— 1 billion Hindus.
— 500 million Buddhists.
— 100 million Shinto.
— 14 million Judaism and others.
The Bible tells us that there are many going to hell, and few that will enter heaven. We can only assume what percentage few is.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt. 7:13-14, KJV, emphasis added).
“Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. …There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out” (Luke 13:23-28, emphasis added).
“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water” (1 Pet. 3:20, emphasis added).
In the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins in Matthew 25, Jesus told us that five virgins went in to the marriage feast, and five were not allowed to enter. The five foolish were those who thought they were saved and expected they would be admitted to the marriage. This would be church-going people. However they were only just that, religious, but didn’t know Jesus personally.
This would indicate that half of the church world is not really saved. The point is that we must all work out our own salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12). Our salvation is a free gift, but we must continue in the faith (Col. 1:23). There is a striving for and pursuing a life of holiness. Hebrews 12:14 states, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” In Luke 8:21 Jesus said, “My mother and my brethren are these which hear the Word of God, and do it.”
The Bible says it is wisdom to know the Lord. Proverbs 15:24 says, “The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.” May we be the wise one who repents of our sins, receives Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and honors God by obeying Him.
