The answer to that question is most likely no. You won’t.

That may seem surprisingly harsh, but look at what Jesus said: “Many are on the wide road that leads to hell, and few are on the narrow road that leads to heaven” (see Matt. 7:13-14). Heaven is not your default destination. There needs to be a purposeful act on your part. Mentally assenting to the fact that Jesus is God is not enough. Unless you have asked forgiveness for your sins, and received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you won’t be going to heaven.

My wife and I were at a restaurant recently talking with the waiter. We got on the subject of God and right away he said, “I’m not religious.”

This is a typical response from an unsaved person. They have no idea that God wants to have a relationship with them. God cares for them and wants to help them, bless them and provide for them. They have no idea that we can actually know God personally and hear His voice daily.

When the Bible is mentioned, it’s thought of as outdated, filled with rituals and rules that are a burden to keep. The Bible is actually our instruction manual for life. It teaches us how to live successfully. It contains promises from God to bless us, direct us, prosper us and keep us in health. We all face many problems in life each day, and the Bible instructs us how to avoid many of these issues. It teaches us how to avoid the plans of the enemy. Whether you know it or not, there are demonic forces that want to destroy your life and take you to hell.

Do you have misconceptions about God and the Bible? Are these thoughts keeping you from a relationship with Him? Jesus asked the apostles in Matthew 16:13b (KJV), “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” This is the most important question in life, and the answer determines where you will spend your eternity. Jesus said He is the only way to heaven.  When a person repents, there is a change in their thoughts and behavior. They have a new heart and want to do what is right and pleasing to God.

Born-again believers in Jesus Christ gain a desire to tell others about their salvation, a desire to live a clean life and a desire to give to God’s work. When a person desires these things, they know they are saved. When a Christian explains to an unsaved person what Jesus did for them on the cross, it is that explanation of the cross that is the power to transform them. Romans 1:16a says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation.”  Are you unashamed of the gospel?

You must decide if you believe who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for you. When Peter was asked, he answered in Matthew 16:16, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
