Jim and Martha Brangenberg want believers to know that, despite our culture’s hostile attitude toward Jesus, they don’t have to be afraid to share the gospel in their workplace.
And even if your employer is less than receptive to it, you can still help co-workers throughout your day by the simple act of prayer and letting them know that you’re praying for them by name. The Brangenbergs are the co-hosts of iWork4Him PowerPod on the Charisma Podcast Network, which helps Christians recognize that their workplace is their mission field.
“I believe the power of prayer in our workplaces is huge,” Jim Brangenberg told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Every day, we should remember to pray for our co-workers and our employees. Just start there, and lift them up and look specifically for what their prayer needs are and let them know you care.
“Pray for them by name because when you pray for people, your heart will start to change. It may not change them, but it starts to change you. Then, look for ways to serve them over and above what your employment contract requires.
“Look for ways to befriend them outside of work. Then, you can actually build a relationship with them that might lead to a relationship with Jesus for them. With our ministry, it’s our hearts’ desire for people to hear and understand that their workplace is their mission field.”
