Why It’s Crucial to Understand Satan, Demons Exist and What Their Mission Is

Pastor Bianca Olthoff says, according to statistics, though 92% of Americans say they believe in a god, only 30% would say they believe in Satan. But it’s important to believe Satan exists in order to prepare ourselves for his accusations that accompany the inevitable spiritual warfare in our lives.

“According to research that came out of The New York Times, an article that was speaking about God, Satan, good and evil, what they said is that Westerners like to believe in supernatural good like God and angels but do not want to believe in supernatural bad like the devil and demons,” Olthoff says. “Do you believe that we are at war [with] a kingdom of darkness? Do you believe that there is a kingdom of darkness that opposes you, opposes your marriage, opposes your children, opposes the call of God on your life? …

“The enemy is a liar. The enemy wants to accuse you, and then after he accuses you, he wants you to agree with that accusation. … Here are the accusations that have assaulted me in the past: ‘You are fat, and fat is ugly. You will always be fat, so you will always be ugly. The church will never be able to accept you in the fullness of who you are. … I want you to pull out a notebook or a piece of paper that you will have for the week, and every time you hear an accusation, I want you to write down the accusation. … Until you become aware of these accusations, you might just think it’s the truth about you.”
