Pastor Shane Idleman says COVID-19 needs to be taken seriously. He says not doing so may be a characteristic of a false prophet. Humility is key.
“I want to be hopeful, but I also don’t want to be ignorant or naive and miss what God might be speaking to us,” Idleman says. “I believe it’s a huge wake-up call, and we are taking what is going on with COVID-19 very seriously. It’s interesting, though, because one of the signs of a false prophet in the Bible was to say ‘Peace, peace’ when there is no peace. ‘Safety, safety’ when there is no safety.
“In other words, they were telling people what they wanted to hear; not what they needed to hear. … If you want to get through this trial, you’ve got to humble yourself, and you’ve got to allow this to break you.”
