Pastor Holly Furtick says she was waking up in the middle of the night, coughing, fearful she might be coming down with COVID-19. In reality, it was just allergies. But in order to combat these feelings of fear, it’s crucial to reflect on all the miracles God did for us in the past.
“What do you do when you’re awake in the night?” Furtick asks. “You stop and you remember how great and how powerful our God is. He’s a good God; He’s a miracle-working God; He’s a deliverer. He is the God who makes Himself known to His people, and His promises do stand.
“What has God done for you? Can you take a second and look back over your life? He’s been there for you; He’s provided for you. What makes you think He’s going to stop now? I don’t know about you, but this is not my first dark night. The problem is, when you’re in the middle of the night, it’s hard to remember the things that you have come through.”
