Author and speaker Nancy Guthrie says COVID-19 is causing her and her neighbors to take more walks around the neighborhood. As a result, God impressed on her heart the desire to share the hope she has in Him with her neighbors.
“My husband and I are walking in our neighborhood—I’m going to deal with the anxiety and stay healthy in a way that we haven’t before,” Guthrie says. “I feel like the Lord is giving me new eyes to see the potentially lost people all around. I’m thinking more about the people in my neighborhood. …
“I’ve only lived in this neighborhood a couple years, so some of them I’ve never even met, but they’re out walking too—and I feel like the big question is: Are you willing to do more than talk about the virus? As the Lord gives you the opportunity to raise our hope in the midst of the disease and death that’s all around us, I’m so grateful I have hope beyond this life. My hope is not limited to a vaccine.”
