In 2 Timothy 3:13, it warns that evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. Jesus said in Matthew 7:15a, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing.”
In other words, they’ll come to you looking like a Christian. Jesus warned you will know them by their fruit or by what they do—just as you know a tree by its fruit.
Scripture warns us that false teachers are not only recognizable by their false doctrine and destructive heresies, but by their sexual immorality and the slander they speak against truth. It warns they are among believers and even fellowship with them! In these days, we must know how to identify correct teachings and false teachings.
