Do you ever feel like God has forgotten you? This past year has been a struggle, hasn’t it? Yet as much as you feel this way, Pastor Mike Signorelli of V1 Church wants to remind you that, no, God has not forgotten you. God has remembered you, and God doesn’t remember like we remember. He doesn’t think, I should definitely call her today, or look at a leaky faucet and think, I was supposed to fix that last weekend, only to continue with whatever He was doing at that moment.
Godly remembrance isn’t just a head activity; it’s a body activity, and it requires action. Godly remembrance is zakar (za-hairr). To zakar is to employ hands, feet and lips to engage in whatever action that remembrance requires.
When God remembered Rachel, He “opened her womb” (Gen. 30:22b).
When God remembered Abraham, He “sent Lot out of the middle of the destruction, when He overthrew” Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:29).
When the Lord sees the rainbow, He “remembers [his] covenant,” and He actively prevents a cosmic flood from recurring.
Or, as Pastor Mike points out in this video, when God remembered Noah, He “made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters receded” (Gen. 8:1).
God has remembered you, and He wants to meet with you and turn your worry into wonder.
