“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation'” (Lev. 23:24, NASB).
All of God’s appointed holy days have dual applications: first in their original historical context to Israel, and second as they relate to their ultimate fulfillment in Messiah Jesus.
What is the ultimate and prophetic message of the Feast of Trumpets? Again, we find in Leviticus that it was “a reminder by the blowing of trumpets.” So, we ask ourselves, what should the blowing of the trumpet remind us of?
The answer is found in Exodus 19, where we find approximately 3 million Jews encamped at the base of Mount Sinai. The Lord manifested a dramatic demonstration of His power by sounding a trumpet-shofar from heaven. As it grew louder and louder, the people were in awe and became terrified. When the divine trumpet reached a crescendo of intensity, the Lord spoke from heaven, and Israel was marked forever.
Beloved, the blowing of the shofar from heaven in Exodus 19 was a precursor, an introduction to the return of Messiah Jesus and the kingdom of God breaking into the earth.
The prophetic counterpart to this divine encounter is found in the book of Revelation—when the final shofar from heaven is blown.
“The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying: ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever'” (Rev. 11:15, HCSB).

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord” 1 Thess. 4:16-17).
Beloved, the exact date of Yeshua’s return is not known by those of us on earth today. But the season is revealed in His Word, and there is little doubt that His return will happen soon.
“But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near!” (Luke 21:28).
Be mindful that the last words that Jesus spoke in the book of Revelation are: “Behold, I am coming quickly” (Rev. 22:12a, NKJV).
The question is: Are you, and is everyone you love, ready?
