As I recently sat before the Lord inquiring about a vision, I heard the Lord say, “It’s coming out in the wash.”
In this vision, I was holding up a white shower curtain, and there were people there inspecting it for residue. The white shower curtain was wet, so it was clear that it had been used for washing. The shower is the place where I generally go when I am crunched for time, which is often. This residue was obviously there because that’s the place where we get clean and wash our entire bodies.
I sat and pondered this, and my mind reflected on moments when my children were younger, when they had gotten really dirty while playing outside in the mud after a rain, playing at the park in wood chips and the sandbox. I had to get all that mud, dirt and wood-chip residue off them when they came inside.
Likewise, we are instructed to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain favor and find help in time of need, and we are encouraged to do so.
As I discussed this with Holy Spirit, this Scripture came to my spirit: “Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow” (Ps. 51:7).
Ceremonial washing was the act of washing for consecration or for purification from uncleanness. It involved washing all or part of the body or one’s clothing. Jesus Christ’s attitude to the Pharisees reflected not a disavowal of ritual washing but disapproval of their emphasis on the outward, rather than inward, forms of religion.
As we remain close to the Lord Jesus Christ and live in a place of worship, our beautiful Lord will remove the dross.
Dross is something regarded as worthless, rubbish and foreign matter, dregs or mineral waste, in particular scum formed on the surface of molten metal.
Jesus said, “You are already clean through the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).
Wage warfare with the words our beautiful Lord has already given you (see 1 Tim. 1:18)! There had been many attacks on our world lately, and the enemy is working on causing many to come out of this season with residue. Position yourself in your place of worship and immerse yourself in the Word of God so that all the residue comes out in the wash. {eoa}
