Chasen trumpets the true essence of God’s nature in their new release, That Was Then This Is Now, out today. The CD is replete with themes of love, redemption, grace and compassion that are designed to draw listeners into authentic worship.
The group’s founder, Chasen Callahan, says people have lost their joy focusing on problems such as the recession and politics. “We’d lost that joy, but when all else fails, God’s love never does,” he says. Callahan says grace is never ending. “His grace goes on forever, so I’m not going to worry about tomorrow.”
The group reflects on the Father’s love in the stirring anthem “On and On,” and celebrates the God of second chances in “Castaway.” Other cuts on the 10-track project include: “Leave You Alone,” “Eyes of Rescue” and “Airplane,” as well as “Slow Down” and “There Is Love,” birthed out of Callahan’s own faith journey.
