God revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 15 when he and the Israelites were at the brink of complete dehydration and on the verge of giving up. To say morale was low would be an understatement. God provided for them by giving them sweet water to drink and healing their bitter hearts.
On this episode of Mixing Church and State God’s Way on the Charisma Podcast Network, host Rick Scarborough walks us through what it would take for God to heal the bitter hearts in our nation.
Scarborough says, “We have [only] survived to the present because of God’s grace and God’s mercy. America was founded upon the principle that men who are sinful could be checked and balanced by opposing views and even opposing departments of our government, so that the outcome was the advancing of our nation.”
Since this is a far cry from the principles our nation was found on, Scarborough muses on the exact steps that will need to be taken to return to our original foundation, but readily admits that “we’ve all got a role to play in restoring our country.”
The answer may lie in a question he asks: “Why do we have to sit back and just say there is no hope? You and I, as followers of Jesus should be shouting there is a hope, because the hope is in Jesus.”
