Miracle Update on Street Preacher Fighting for His Life
An Arizona evangelist, who was shot last month while promoting a church service on the streets of Glendale, has been moved out of the intensive care unit but is still in a “delicate” condition, according to his family. The incident, which occurred on the evening of Nov. 15, has left Hans Schmidt, a 26-year-old outreach director at Victory Chapel First Phoenix Church and father of two small children, fighting for his life.
As the investigation continues, the Glendale Police Department has released surveillance video and is offering a $10,000 reward for information about the shooting. The footage shows Schmidt standing at the street corner, where he fell forward and then got back up to his feet. Shortly after, it was discovered that he had an unexplained wound on his head.
During a press conference in November, Gina Winn, the public information officer for the Glendale Police Department, stated that it is still unknown how Schmidt was shot and if the shooter was in a car or on foot at the time of the incident. It is also unknown if Schmidt was targeted or if it was a random act of violence.
Larry Tomczak: 5 Ways We Should Respond to Mike Bickle’s Statement
My long-standing friend and fellow leader Mike Bickle has issued a statement regarding his current situation in which he has faced allegations about sinful misconduct. Multitudes across America and abroad have been praying for truth to be revealed, and we believe that has happened, continuing in prayer as the careful investigation continues. I affirm the current IHOPKC senior leadership and have confidence in their ongoing oversight.
In my weekly written and video commentaries, I’ve joined other leaders in expressing support for Bickle while underscoring absolute adherence to biblical guidelines and accountability: “I reiterate that accountability is essential, and if the careful investigation reveals wrongdoing, I am confident it will be handled biblically and redemptively with discipline and God’s plan for restoration.”
I, like others, emulated the example of Billy Graham when asked about Richard Nixon during Watergate: “I am still his friend. I have not forsaken him. I have met and prayed with him many times.”

The Jesus Revolution of 2023: From Asbury to Gen Z, Revisiting a Year of Revival
This year we witnessed a powerful move of the Holy Spirit across college campuses, beaches, prisons and churches—so much so that 2023 could be dubbed a “Year of Revival.” It could even point to the beginning of what many have called a spiritual awakening in America.
Faith leaders have testified that “revival is happening” in pockets across the U.S. spanning different age groups, denominations and backgrounds.
The Asbury Awakening
Many would say that the biggest “firestarter” of them all was a simple worship service at Asbury University in Kentucky where 100 people fell to their knees and bowed at the altar in Hughes Auditorium, just to worship God.
