There are specific areas to which Hillman says we are called to leverage our influence—A “Seven Mountains Strategy.” He says this strategy “represents seven areas of culture like arts and entertainment, media, government, education, business, family and church.”
If Christians are going to impact culture, Hillman says, “We’ve got to focus our attention on helping [other] Christians live out their faith in those areas, because that’s where people often establish their values and beliefs.”
Our models are biblical examples like Daniel, Nehemiah and Joseph. Hillman calls them “marketplace ministers” who “used their influence with God to influence culture.”
Host Todd Smith admits, “America is on a downward spiral.” But he says, “We’re not fully collapsed yet. And we could use our spheres of influence to redirect the culture.”
Hillman agrees, “I think that we, as the body of Christ, have to utilize the gifting that He’s given all of us to really be salt and light in these areas like never before.”
