Chance the Rapper is praising fellow entertainer Kanye West for his gospel-infused music as well as his Sunday Service events, calling West’s work “more important” because of its spiritual nature.
“It’s slightly more important because it’s doing what we’re supposed to do, shouting praise,” said Chance during a recent appearance on the popular YouTube series Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans. “Seeing Kanye get all these people together [and] reveal these songs of worship that have been around forever to people who may not know them. It’s an important thing that’s supposed to be happening right now and it’s dope that Ye is doing it.”
Evans also asked Chance about those who feel it’s difficult to listen to his music because he is a Christian, referring to the 2017 Vice article titled, “It’s Tough to Be a Chance the Rapper Fan When You’re Not a Christian.”
