If there ever was an album for the body of Christ it’s the Catalyst Music Project. Catalyst, a leadership organization, set up a songwriting contest and more than 300 worship leaders submitted 750 songs, representing more than 500 churches. The album features 12 of the contest songs from contributors such as Rod Attaway, Scotty Willbanks, Jeremiah Jones, Phil Wickham, Laura Story, Heather Williams, Fee and many others.
The CD opens with the upbeat “Love Is the Answer” written by Willbanks and Attaway, who also leads on vocals. Jones’ “What a Savior,” performed by Story, will resonate with listeners as they repeat the memorable chorus: “Jesus, You are stronger / More than any other / Hallelujah / What a Savior / Jesus, You are higher / My soul’s deepest desire / Hallelujah / You are Savior.” Williams sings with passion on “Emmanuel,” written by Miriam Ah Kuoi and Rudy Vaughn. David Walker rocks it out a bit on his “Revivals Fire.” This track is a prayerful cry that we will live in such a way that people cannot deny that God is God.
This album is a great round up of the phenomenal artists involved in worship ministry today. And although this project was generated from a contest, there are no losers. And the real winner is the greater body of Christ with a collection of uplifting songs perfect for individual or corporate worship.
