Time flies when you’re having fun—and writing hit songs, climbing the music charts, winning awards, selling millions of CDs and DVDs and, most important, ministering to people. It’s hard to realize that it’s been 10 years since MercyMe frontman Bart Millard wrote the now classic “I Can Only Imagine.” The band surely couldn’t have imagined then that Millard’s personal song, written in response to his father’s untimely death, would become a great hit and set the band on its current path. But God does what we cannot imagine or comprehend, and He has used this band to minister to millions over the last decade.
To celebrate their milestone anniversary, MercyMe released 10, a CD-DVD collection of No. 1 singles and videos from five studio releases. Bonus tracks include a new recording of “I Can Only Imagine” with the London Symphony Orchestra; the never before released “Only Temporary” and “10 Simple Rules” from the children’s video Hoop Dogz.
The DVD showcases music videos and live performances from shows across the United States for songs such as “In the Blink of an Eye,” “You Reign,” Spoken For” and “Homesick.” Fans will also get an inside look at the feature of MercyMe produced by the Gospel Music Channel as well as the story that inspired “I Can Only Imagine.”
This best-of collection is the prefect way to celebrate a decade of music ministry. Fans can only hope it’s just the beginning for MercyMe.
