Everything that you are, everything that touches your life, comes from God. He is the giver of life. He is Elohim. “The basic meaning behind the name Elohim is one of strength or power of effect. Elohim is the infinite, all-powerful God who shows by His works that He is the creator, sustainer, and supreme judge of the world.”
Paul writes to the Colossians, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.” (Colossians 1:15-18, NLT)
I want you to know that you came into this world for God; you didn’t come into this world to live unto yourself. That word preeminence is a big word—a superlative term. God is first in everything. He is superior in every way from the beginning to the end, and nothing or no one has more power, authority, or say so into your purpose.
So, the next time the devil gives you a hard time, just let him know who has the last word in your life.
