Chan’s latest title, Erasing Hell, debuted at No. 3 this week. And his older titles Crazy Love and Forgotten God are still hanging on at No. 4 and No. 10, respectively. Having three titles on the list is a first for Chan, and having three tiles from one author on the list at the same time is a first for his publisher, David C. Cook.
“Francis is resonating with readers all over the world with his timely and challenging messages,” says David C. Cook Publisher Don Pape. “By having all three of his books on the New York Times best-seller lists simultaneously, we see how he is poised to increase his influence not only to the church but in all thoughtful conversations about God and religion. Francis is the face of Christianity for the future millennium.”
Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God was released in May 2008 and has spent 38 consecutive weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. The book has sold more than 1.6 million copies.
Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit was released in September 2009 and has appeared on the New York Times best-seller list for 10 consecutive weeks. Erasing Hell: What God Said About Eternity and the Things We Made Up released on July 5.
Chan is founder of Eternity Bible College and serves on the boards of Children’s Hunger Fund and World Impact. Chan has also written three children’s books—Halfway Herbert, The Big Red Tractor and the Little Village, and Ronnie Wilson’s Gift, all published by David C. Cook.
