Dino Kartsonakis, also known as America’s Piano Showman, was among those affected. The Grammy-award winning pianist’s family home was buried in 13 feet of water. He lost a lifetime of musical awards, archives, grand pianos, photographs, clothing and family heirlooms.
Now, Kartsonakis is setting out to raise funds for flood relief efforts throughout the Midwest.
Kartsonakis’ children recently posted the following petition on his website, asking for donations to their parents’ ministry: “If it is in your heart to give to their ministry, no matter how big or small the amount, we will be forever grateful for your kindness and love. Even $5 can be a beautiful blessing. We will pray that God will bless you tenfold in return. More than anything our family needs prayer at this time as do ALL of the precious flood victims throughout the Midwest.”
“It was overwhelming to see our house sitting in water during this terrible flood, but I am even more overwhelmed by the love and support we received from our family and friends around the nation,” Kartsonakis says. “My hope is that the United States will reach out to all of the flood victims who lost their homes in Branson, Missouri. The damage is catastrophic.”
