In the world of prophetic ministry, accuracy and responsibility play a crucial role in guiding believers’ faith and expectations. In one of my latest editions of my Strang Report podcast, I spoke with Jeremiah Johnson, a prophetic voice who faced significant challenges and transformation over the past couple of years. From failed predictions to personal struggles, Johnson’s story is a testament to the complexities and lessons of the prophetic realm.
Johnson gained national attention when he shared three distinct prophecies that spoke about the trajectory of America’s future. Johnson’s initial prophecies consisted of a three-part dream that included predictions about the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the World Series, Amy Coney Barrett’s appointment as a Supreme Court justice and the re-election of Donald Trump. While the first two predictions came true, the third prophecy did not materialize. It was after this missed prophetic word that Johnson humbled himself before the Lord to see what God wanted him to do.
“I began to pray and ask the Lord what He wanted me to do about that miss,” Johnson said. “When I began to really get in the prayer closet and really asked the Holy Spirit: ‘what do you want me to do?’ I felt like He said, ‘I want you to publish a public letter…’ And I feel like the Lord wanted me to apologize for that failed prophecy.”
Johnson is certainly not the first person who had to admit that this prophecy did not come to pass. I personally wrote multiple books on Donald Trump, including “God, Trump, and the 2020 Election” where I spoke specifically of what was at stake if Trump were to lose.
Unfortunately for Johnson, much of his backlash came from charismatic Christians who had followed him for over a decade. Johnson also felt the Lord leading him to shut down his ministry and take himself off the internet. However, it was in this season of breaking that Johnson says his relationship with the Lord was rekindled and set ablaze for his future.
“I felt like the Lord was inviting me to die to my public reputation, that it wasn’t about whether I was really right or wrong, but it was about God inviting me into a deeper place of cleansing and relationship with Him,” Johnson said.
Johnson says that in the summer of 2021 he went to a conference at Joseph Garlington’s church in Pittsburgh. Johnson went on to tell about everything that happened to him, which led a couple of individuals from the church to recognize that he was under the power of satanic witchcraft from everything that he had been through, including death threats. As embarrassed as Johnson was, he says he received deliverance there that changed his life.
“I felt like I was seeing in color for the first time in a number of months. And things started changing dramatically. I felt like the Lord said to me, ‘one man in his [Johnson’s] ministry had to die, so that a global movement could be birthed.’”
This global movement is Johnson’s new ministry, The Altar Global, where the focus is on spreading the gospel to the next generation.
“We feel like God is asking us to go after souls, host overnight camps, the next generation…God is trying to bring us into repentance and humility and owning where we miss it,” Johnson said. “I am a message to the prophetic movement that God is trying to bring us into repentance and humility and owning where we miss it. And I just recognize I am a living witness and a testimony in this generation.”
Perhaps you’ve fallen from grace or seen someone in ministry fall out of grace with those around them. Testimonies like Johnson’s prove God will pick you up and bring new life despite past mistakes and hurts.
