One of the biggest ways God moves is through miracles, signs and wonders. It’s through these signs that we see the hand of God moving to do things that we never could have expected to happen without Him. It’s through this miraculous power that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and by which the Holy Spirit was poured out on God’s people in the Day of Pentecost.
Recently my good friend and prophetic leader Ken Fish shared with me his own profound experiences of seeing the Holy Spirit direct his steps and work in the miraculous realm.
“A friend of mine in Australia gave me a prophetic word and he said, ‘You should be writing down a lot of these accounts and things that are going on,'” Fish said. Years later, these accounts would turn into his book, “On the Road with the Holy Spirit,” which I had the privilege of publishing this past spring.
Ken Fish’s journey from the corporate world to the realm of ministry is both inspiring and eye-opening. He spent over a decade closely working with John Wimber, a renowned figure in the charismatic community. This experience profoundly influenced Ken’s understanding of the supernatural and the role of faith in our lives. It led him to desire to see authentic prophecy shared worldwide.
“I was seeing a lot of things going on in the charismatic world that didn’t look to me to be authentically supernatural,” Fish said. “I think people want them to be, but somehow it was almost like ‘fake it till you make it.'”
It’s a heart after a true encounter with the Holy Spirit that makes a difference in the life of a believer. With the Holy Spirit, we can experience comfort, peace and tap into the truth of what the Lord has for us. These are the principles I share in “Spirit-Led Living in an Upside-Down World.” What I admire about Ken’s ministry experience is that Christianity is not merely a religion or belief system; it’s an invitation to begin a remarkable adventure with our heavenly Father.
“The Holy Spirit; He will teach you,” Fish said. “”And what I found was that many things I was learning, it sounds weird to the modern ear, but I was being taught by the Holy Spirit Himself. And sometimes it was out of passages of the Bible that I’d not looked at in a particular way prior to that. Maybe I’d have a dream or a vision or something would happen and it would like shift my understanding of something.”
This adventure of learning more about the Holy Spirit is something that extends from this life into eternity, marked by signs and wonders. Many Christians have reduced their faith to mere hope, longing to experience God’s power but not knowing how. God’s great power, peace, joy and love are accessible today through His Holy Spirit, waiting for believers to step into a deeper, more vibrant relationship with the Creator.
“There is so much more available than what most of us are experiencing,” Fish said.
