I was in prayer concerning what should the body of Christ do as we prepare for the New Year and season approaching. I suddenly received a closed vision with my mind’s eyes that was very prophetic in nature. The inner vision was a person crossing the finishing line in an Olympic track and field race. As I sought the Lord concerning this vision, I heard the Spirit of God whisper the word “Relentless!” God was showing me that He desires His people to have “relentless faith” as they press into the New Year and finish strong. God doesn’t just want His people to finish strong but start even stronger for 2019.
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the word “relentless” means “continuing without becoming weaker, less severe and remaining strict or determined.” In other words, to be relentless means that something bad that is relentless never stops or never becomes less intense as the enemy is relentless in attacking the children of God. But as children of God, we are called to be overcomers in Christ, and we are relentless by determining to do something regardless of opposing opposition and refusal to give up, even if what you are doing is unpleasant or cruel.
The Bible says that the righteous are bold as a lion (Prov. 28:1b). The lion is the king of the jungle and animal kingdom. He is not the biggest, heaviest, largest, fastest, smartest or most dangerous. What sets a lion apart from all others is not any of these. But a lion is bold, fearless, hungry and relentless than any animal in the kingdom. A lion’s attitude, position and heart demand respect. When a lion sees any other animal, he doesn’t see them as competition but sees them as lunch. Because of the lion’s hunter instinct and nature, others animals in the kingdom automatically fear the lion, Why? It’s due to the fact of the lion’s ability to “relentlessly” hunt and pursue them as food in his eyes.
A lion’s heart and boldness make him king above all. Spiritually speaking, the lion’s heart, mentality, posture and presence release fear in others while he walks around boldly, confidently and majestically. The lion’s faith in himself causes other animals to take notice of him. What has the enemy said or done to your faith that cause you to walk in fear, intimidation or doubt? God wants to change your perspective and how you view yourself. God wants to instill in you a measure of faith to overcome unexpected warfare and opposition. God wants to give you a lion’s heart to boldly come before the throne of grace, asking the King what you need for Him to do on your behalf.
The closed vision that God gave me was that of a person crossing the finishing line. I heard the Spirit of the Lord say to tell His people that He is going to grant unto them an omega (finisher’s) anointing in this next season. This is not the time to draw back, retreat, give up or succumb to what life has thrown your way. Resist the enemy, and he will flee (James 4:7). The Lord said He is going to give many of His people in this new season to have relentless endurance through their spiritual warfare encounters.
God spoke a Scripture to me concerning relentless faith for the believer, which is in Romans 8:28-31:
We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
If God is before you, who can be against you? There is nothing standing in your way if God has gone before you.
You are a “relentlessly conqueror” in Christ Jesus, who will help you have flawless victory in your race toward destiny. We have understood that even God Himself is relentless and determined to bless and deliver His people from the enemy’s strongholds. God activated relentless signs, wonders and miracles in setting His people free from Egyptian bondage. Jeremiah 32:19-21 (MSG) proves it by saying:
Determined in purpose and relentless in following through, you see everything that men and women do and respond appropriately to the way they live, to the things they do. “
You performed signs and wonders in the country of Egypt and continue to do so right into the present, right here in Israel and everywhere else, too. You’ve made a reputation for yourself that doesn’t diminish. You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders—a powerful deliverance!—by merely stretching out your arm.
Get ready to finish what you have started in this next season that is coming. Relentless faith, boldness, courage, strength and persistence will overcome and shatter fear, timidity, cowardliness, feebleness and laziness. Apostle Paul began to admonish the Corinthian believers by prophetically encouraging them to be relentless in the work God has called them to do. In 1 Corinthians 15:58 (MEV) Paul encourages them by saying “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Life will bring unnecessary pressure, responsibilities and warfare at times, but this shouldn’t shake your faith to finish what God has entrusted you with. There are times you may want to throw in the towel or wave the white flag of surrender. But God has not given you a spirit of us a spirit of timidity, but of power, love and self-control, according to 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord has given you patience in persecution! God said He will protect those who are persevering in faith and that they will not become one of the enemy’s spiritual casualties of warfare.
Hebrews 10:39 emphatically declares: “But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.” You will not shrink back but rise up with the power of God to tread upon serpent and scorpions (See Luke 10:19). God told me to tell His people that as they possess relentless faith ending the year and starting the new year, He is going to give them relentless momentum and a power surge to break personal life records and accomplish amazing fates in Christ for their generation. {eoa}
