Prophecy: This Year Will Be a Great Tug of War

First, I want to be open and honest. I presented this word to our church leadership with a few other items that I felt were for the church specifically. But as I continued to sit and meditate on it, I keep feeling the Spirit’s nudge to apply it to a much broader audience. So, in obedience to the Lord, I have sat down to edit it and present it on a much more global scenario.

I sense that the upcoming year will be both rewarding and challenging at the same time, individually, nationally and globally. Leave it to God to combine two extremes into the upcoming season. The challenges will both build strength and also encroach on the enemy’s territory. Also, the rewards that will result from these challenges will bring about a sense of joy and peace as we see God come forward at the end of 2019 to be crowned the victor.

Vision of Drawing Water From a Well

I had a vision of someone drawing water out of a well, and the bucket was full; water was splashing out the top as it was being pulled up. There was a lot of tension on the rope, and something was on the other end trying to pull it back down. Then I had this verse come to mind:

“Therefore with joy you shall draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isa. 12:3).

As we are aware, the enemy is always trying to stop or hinder that which we are doing by the Spirit’s leading. The word “victory” implies that a battle has taken place. I sense that at the end of 2019, there will a great victory for the kingdom of God; however, it will not come without a tug of war between God’s chosen one’s and the enemy’s agents of darkness.

2019: A Season of Tension and Transition

“To everything there is a season” (Eccl. 3:1a). Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is a description of seasons with opposites being listed in the verses: “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up.”

I feel the Lord saying 2019 will be a year of challenge and change (for the better), struggle and strengthening, repositioning and rest, conflict and congratulations, protest and peace, wounding and wisdom, reprimands and rewards!

On one end: challenge, struggle, repositioning, conflict, protest, wounding and reprimands. The start of 2019 is bumpy already and will continue to be for a number of months.

On the other end: change (for the better), strengthening, rest, congratulations, peace, wisdom and rewards. The end of 2019 will be a reaping of great rewards!

The side with the seemingly negative characteristics will all be covered by the grace and love of God because of the following: “Now thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ and through us reveals the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God a sweet fragrance of Christ among those who are saved and among those who perish” (2 Cor. 2:14-15). Opposites again!

I feel that humility is a key component for us during this season. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10).

So, starting the year with fasting and prayer is great proactive way to go into this transitional year, with humility as our posture.

The Freedom to Make Mistakes

The freedom to make mistakes and learn from them is going to be a banner over us during this season. Song of Songs 2:4 says, “He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love.”

Throughout the course of this year, any mistakes made in this learning process will already be cloaked in the “banner of Love” and result in great results from walking in the fear of the Lord:

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is Your servant warned, and by keeping them comes great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults (Ps. 19:9-12).

Song of Solomon 2:4: Destination ‘Banqueting House!’

“He brought me to the banquet house, and his banner over me was love” (Song 2:4).

I woke up this morning with these lyrics from an old Barry Manilow song going through my mind: “Looks like we made it, left each other on the way to another love!”

I didn’t know that they were going to be prophetic until now. Please allow me to explain.

As I was finishing this word up, they came back to me again. Because I really feel this to be true … at the end of 2019 we will prevail, and God will prevail.

Please do not take this word as a word of rebuke for it is not. Neither as a word of discouragement, for it is intended to be a word of encouragement to take us through this next year. Every trial and tribulation we go through, every challenging lesson we have to navigate though will only be for our good to bring us to a place of victory.

“Looks like we made it”: I feel that the Lord is impressing me that in the kingdom of God, we will make it to where He is taking us!

Make It Where?

“Left each other on the way to another love!” We will make it to the next level of the love of God. As we experience what He is teaching us this year and learn wisdom from those transitional lessons, I believe with all my heart that the destination will be reached! The enemy will be defeated, and we will all be crowned victors! {eoa}
