Among all the other crises America is facing, we have a housing crisis. People bought land prior to the pandemic, but with skyrocketing prices, they can’t afford to build homes. “Lumber prices have increased more than 180% since last spring,” says end-times expert Michael Snyder. Homelessness has also increased dramatically, with huge encampments springing up in some of our largest metropolitan areas.
But another housing crisis looms even larger, Snyder says—the crisis of safety and knowing where is the safest place to live. “The No. 1 thing people need to look for, of course, the safest place to be is the center of God’s will,” he tells Dr. Steve Greene on a popular episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network.
“We are in the end times; things are going to be dangerous; things are going to be crazy,” he says. “And so people instinctively want to be somewhere safe, but the safest place is right in the middle of God’s will. … God doesn’t always have the same plan for you that He has for me or someone else. So you need to pray and seek Him and ask for His will.”
Outside of that, Snyder says, he tries to give people some ideas of what states and areas might provide the safest, most wholesome environment for their families.
“What sparked this is US News & World Report came out with an article in which they listed their top 10 best states for 2021 and 10 worst states for 2021. And their worst states, which they listed were a bunch of red states … they want to live with their blue-state buddies; they don’t want to live in red states.”
But he and fellow believers have different priorities, Snyder says, so he researched and created his own list. Because of the massive civil unrest in our country, he says, “I’m looking at safety, security, and so I’m looking at places with low population density.”
“I’m also looking for places that have natural resources; in particular, fresh water is something that’s important to me when things get really crazy,” Snyder says. “I don’t want to be anywhere along the major fault lines moving into the times that we’re moving into; I want to be away from the coast. … so I’m talking about East and West Coast and the New Madrid Fault Line … So those are some areas that I prefer to avoid and would recommend that people avoid.
“And then, of course, we’ve got other things to be concerned about—we’ve got the massive crisis on the border,” he says. “We’ve just got a real immigration crisis on our southern border particularly.”
Snyder also says people will want to avoid large cities. “Ever since the COVID pandemic began, people have been fleeing out of California, out of New York, out of the Chicago area,” he says. ” There are more than 100,000 gang members on the city of Chicago alone right now. And the violence that happens there. makes headlines all over the world. And so my top three states where not to live: California, New York, Illinois—those made the top three on my list of where not to live.”
