My first and foremost goal is to remain in the kingdom of God throughout the day. There is only one other kingdom, and I don’t want to be there.
The hardest thing we do in our walk is to remain in God’s kingdom. I often think about my thought life. Does every thought I entertain represent kingdom-of-God thinking? Most days, I’m very happy to know that thought bubbles don’t hang over my head to reveal what I’m really thinking.
I must work hard as a leader to think good thoughts about everyone on my team. I must give no room for vain imaginations about what others may have said or done.
I need to see others as God sees them.
When I hear or read a bad report about a teammate, I must first think good thoughts about the intentions of the worker. I must assume the best and coach rather than fuss.
When we love with the love of Jesus, we think about people the way He does. We see the best in them. We speak into what they are becoming.
I want to speak with the unction of the Holy Spirit. What’s born of the flesh is flesh and what is born of the Spirit is Spirit. I want to lead others with the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit. I want to do better unto them than they do unto me.
Leadership begins in my thought life.
