Max Lucado Encourages Gateway Church: ‘You’ll Get Through This’
In an inspirational message to the congregants of Gateway Church, Max Lucado gave the church hope in the middle of the darkness.
“You’ll get through this. It won’t be painless. It won’t be quick. But God will use this mess for good. In the meantime, don’t be foolish of naïve. But don’t despair either. With God’s help, you will get through this,” Lucado told Gateway in a recent message.
Using the story of Joseph and the despair he went through after being stuck in a pit and sold into slavery by his brothers, Lucado demonstrated how God uses people in the very worst of places and circumstances to turn it all around for good.
JD Vance Discusses His Journey of Christian Faith
Senator J.D. Vance, recently announced as candidate for vice president, passionately spoke about his Christian faith and its transformative power at the “God and Country” breakfast on Thursday, July 18. In a heartfelt speech, Vance detailed his spiritual journey and the significant role his faith plays in his personal and political life.
Raised by his grandmother, whom he affectionately calls “Maw-maw,” Vance recounted his early exposure to Christianity. “Despite the fact that she loved the f-word, she was a woman of very deep Christian faith,” Vance says, reflecting on how his grandmother’s unorthodox yet devout faith laid the foundation for his beliefs.
“She was in some ways what you might call ‘unchurched,’” Vance continues. “We went to church maybe once or twice a month, sometimes less, sometimes more, but she read the Bible every single day. She prayed every single day. She loved to watch Billy Graham whenever he was on the TV, and that was really my introduction to the Christian faith.”
