For those paying attention and applying biblical discernment to the times in which we live in, an increase in demonic activity is evermore visible, according to Pastor Jack Hibbs.
In a recent video, Hibbs, Senior and Founding Pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, addressed demons and the increase in attention paid to them as opposed to the preaching of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
“Possession, Satan, all of these things have now carried the bulk of the conversation rather than the pursuit of lost souls,” Hibbs says. “People now are becoming overstimulated on spirituality rather than biblical doctrine.”

Hibbs warns against the seeking of signs and the emotional rush many get from such supernatural experiences. And in a time when demons clearly are manifesting in society, he warns that there must be a balance between the natural and the spiritual.
“Does the Bible speak about demons and demon activity? Of course. Does the Bible talk about casting out demons? Absolutely. Does the Bible talk about healing and raising the dead? Absolutely, but when people begin to pursue that instead of personal holiness and knowing the full counsel of God, this is where we get goofy,” Hibbs says.
An increase in demonic activity should not be alarming to Christians, as Hibbs points out it is foretold in the Bible that the end times would bring about such things. It is because of the coming deception that believers must be rooted in the Word of God and able to discern the doctrines that lead people away from the Lord.
“We’re talking about the last days warning in Scripture that perilous times would come and there would be doctrines of demons and deceiving spirits that would be present,” Hibbs shares. “And if you want to find out where that’s more active than anywhere else, it would be the so-called church. That’s where it begins. That’s where the first warning goes out to, the church. But it’s not limited to the church. Right now we live in a culture where there are people walking around, are they demon-possessed or are they on fentanyl? Could be both.”
