Stephen E. Strang Says Barrett’s Confirmation ‘Should Make All Spirit-Filled Christians Proud’

(Editor’s Note: Media firm Hamilton Strategies released this last night upon the Senate’s confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett. It’s such an important word that I wanted to share it with you even though I am quoted in the article rather than having written it myself. —Stephen Strang)

Judge Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court by the full Senate Monday night, capping a dramatic and swift victory for President Donald J. Trump this fall—and Stephen E. Strang, founder of Charisma Media and author of the compelling new book God, Trump and COVID-19, applauds the historic action.

“I’m thrilled Judge Amy Coney Barrett has been confirmed to the Supreme Court,” Strang said. “She has a brilliant legal mind and handled enormous adversarial questioning with grace.”

“I’m proud that such a strong believer has attained this high level,” he added. “This should make all Spirit-filled Christians proud.”

Amy Coney Barrett, 48, now joins on the high court two earlier selections by President Trump, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh—a remarkable achievement for any president. For the past three years, Barrett has served as a circuit judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Trump nominated her to that post as well.

Last week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ,R-Ky., told reporters about Barrett’s path to the Supreme Court, “We have the votes.”

On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced her nomination with sole Republican support by a vote of 12-0. Democrats chose to boycott the vote in protest. Then, on Sunday afternoon, the Senate voted 51-48 to limit debate to 30 hours on Barrett’s nomination—setting up the full Senate vote on her confirmation for tonight.

Senate Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the upper chamber. They firmly believe that Barrett, as a Supreme Court justice, will forge a strong path as a conservative woman of faith who opposes abortion.

Strang, who has written authoritatively about President Trump for years, noted previously that Barrett—during her Senate hearings—”showed herself highly intelligent and poised in spite of partisan attacks.”

Strang praised Trump at the outset for his selection of Barrett for SCOTUS:

“I believe that what the president said earlier was true: He ‘rightly acknowledged’ that he and other elected Republican officials had an ‘obligation, without delay,’ to fill the vacancy created on the high court (by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, on Sept. 18, 2020.) ‘Donald Trump has probably been one of the staunchest defenders of religious liberties and freedoms we have seen. He also makes it no secret that he has an evangelical council that meets with him periodically, ministers to him, advises him and at times even lays hands on him and prays over him, something I also point out in the book. By selecting Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court, Trump has acted with his conservative beliefs and his firm ‘faith in America’ in mind.”

“Trump is a true leader,” Strang said, “and the election this year is so important for Christians and for people of all faiths. The president is a champion of our belief in God and of returning us to the foundation of our freedoms in this country.”

Stephen Strang’s newest book is God, Trump and COVID-19, a dynamic follow-up to his earlier book, God, Trump and the 2020 Election. In addition to sharing important insider information about China and the coronavirus, the new book addresses a key question for Christians: “Where is God in all this?” Listen to his podcast about Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation at this link.

God, Trump and COVID-19 is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House, which publishes books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians. The book is available in hardcover, paperback and e-book formats at stevestrangbooks.com. {eoa}
